2018- Albert Spada
2018 – Albert Spada
Albert Spada, a Glasco native, is one of the county's most influential public officials who served as county clerk for 39 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.
Spada began his political career working as a legislative assistant to state Assemblyman Kenneth Wilson and state Sen. Ogden Bush. He was appointed deputy county clerk in 1962 and was first elected to that office in 1966. At the time, the 34-year-old Spada was the youngest county clerk in the state. He was re-elected 11 times and retired in 2005.
Over the years, the now 86-year-old Spada has served on various boards and won multiple honors for public service.
