The Ulster County Italian American Foundation currently has the following active committees to help us further our mission. If you wish to be a member we would love to have you participate in one of the committees.

AWARDS/DONATIONS

Ulster County High School seniors in the 9 school districts (Ellenville, Highland, Kingston, Marlboro, New Paltz, Onteora, Saugerties, Rondout Valley, Wallkill) are awarded $1,000 Education Awards in June each year based upon criteria that is established by the UCIAF Education Awards Committee. In addition, donations are made to local charities and individuals in need.

BYLAWS

Develops organization mission, rules and regulations for operation. Defines meeting guidelines, membership criteria, designate Officers and responsibilities, committee structure.

COMMUNITY CARES

Born out of the pandemic, the Community Care Fund and Outreach Program provide immediate need assistance to our community. Working closely with other local agencies and nonprofit organizations, our food drives help restock local food pantries. With the generous donations of our members, our Community Care Fund provides gift cards, clothing, and household items to those in need. Our Outreach Program provides shopping assistance and fitness classes. These are only a few of the services we provide at no charge to the community.

CULTURAL EVENTS/FUND RAISING

Identifies events and activities that are interesting and relevant to the membership. Responsible for creating fund raising events and programs, social nights, trips/travels, speakers, etc.

ITALIAN FESTIVAL

Held annually the Sunday before Columbus Day. Organizes and implements the logistics, publicity, entertainment, vendors, volunteers and interface with the community.

MEMBERSHIP

Promotes and develops membership interest. Registers new members in the member data base. Recommends dues structure to the Board of Directors. Tracks dues collections annually.

SOCIAL MEDIA/MEDIA RELATIONS

Responsible for website development and continuity. Posts on Facebook and other social media as necessary. Writes press releases regarding events and activities.

SPONSORS

Responsible for seeking businesses and professionals as well as other interested peoples who are willing to support UCIAF’s mission to preserve, promote and celebrate our rich Italian culture. The funds collected are used to provide assistance for local charities, people in need, produce our annual Italian festival, provide education awards, allow for cultural programs and so much more. They are also responsible for maintaining relationships with current sponsors.
